The Limes Hotel is a unique, Swiss cheese-style building that screams Manhattan, but it is on the edge of Brisbane city where this new, 21-room design hotel has chosen to call home.
Set on the fringe of Fortitude Valley, Brisbane’s best-loved nightlife precinct that is currently receiving a revamp, the hotel is located in a somewhat lonely position.
Hotel residents won’t feel lonely for long, however, as once the sun starts to go down, the popular rooftop bar suddenly comes alive. On certain nights, the rooftop bar turns into an open-air cinema.
Rooms are typical of a boutique hotel, being on the smaller side, yet comfortable. Offering a king size bed, an espresso machine and a kitchenette, it has everything you need for a few nights stay. Some ground floor rooms include a small courtyard complete with hammock. Despite the pumping atmosphere upstairs in the bar, rooms are quiet and comforting.
While the hotel itself doesn’t offer a restaurant, it is possible to order room service from the restaurant next door, which is also owned by Limes.
The location serves the hotel well, with the newly developed James Street restaurant and retail precinct a short ten-minute stroll.
